Reginald Hare, Chairman and President of Melvest Marine Inc, incorporated  the parent company Melvest Inc. as a holding company for family real estate in 1990. Melvest Marine Inc. originally incorporated as Melvest Woodtile Corporation, was incorporated the following year as a wholly owned subsidiary. It changed it's name to Melvest Marine Inc. in 2006 when the corporation switched to yacht construction as it's main activity. However, the corporation is involved in other activity apart from building yachts. It has been a sustantial importer of Lumber and still the largest importer of Barbed wire in the Philippines. Since yacht building commenced the corporation has built 19 Farrier Trimarans, all of which except one has exported overseas.

Melvest Marine Inc. with it's 50% owned subsidiary, Brenshaw Trading Corporation, has now commenced the sale and installation of LED Lights, a new technology that saves energy and prolong the life of the light
